Sweet Baby Gift

A sweet friend of mine from church gave this to us today. She made it just for Mattie. It is absolutely precious! I don't know where she found the time. She has a five year old and 8 month old twins. They are all boys, so maybe the pink was a good diversion! :) I love it and can't wait until she can wear it! She will be even more snuggly than she already is!
And mittens to match!

First Church Trip

Matilyn went to church for the first time last Sunday. Matt and I played "musical church" for most of it, but that's for another blog entry. She stayed with me for the music, then it was time to eat during the sermon. We went to the nursing mom's room.
With her big brothers after church.
Headed to the car. Totally couldn't resist this picture!

2 Weeks Old

Mattie was 2 weeks old on Wednesday. We went to the Dr. on Tuesday for her check-up. Her stats were:

8 lbs. 4 oz. (50%)
21.25" (75-90%)
I don't remember her head measurement off the top of mine, but it was in the 25-50% range.
No shots until 2 months, but we had the 2nd newborn screen, which was a heel stick. She wasn't very happy about that.

Everything else checked out beautifully! We go back at 2 months. She's able to hold her head up when you hold her on your shoulder. She's focusing more on my face, which also means more awake time. She's eating about every 4 hours during the day, and usually has 5-6 hour stretches at night. I'm only having to get up once! Yippee for that and hooray for the DVR. She hardly ever cries. I still can't believe that she is already here and that she's mine!

Pink Lint

I must be losing my mind! I've been doing laundry today. Lots of laundry. The crazy part of it all, I got really excited when I cleaned out the lint trap.....it was PINK!!! I know, I know, I'm a little weird.

Writing on the Wall

Yippee! I got the letters on her wall yesterday! Now her room is officially finished!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Matt's 34th birthday. Noah had the great idea to make him breakfast in bed. On the menu: blueberry pancakes and bacon. No bacon, so we had to substitute ham. Only one eggshell made it into the batter, and we found it before it made its way into a pancake.
Noah was so proud of himself. Blueberry pancakes are daddy's favorite.

Present time. Grandma had lots of surprises for daddy. Daddy picked out his own birthday present from all of us - Rock Band 2. The other part of his present was that the X-Box came back from the "red ring of death" repair just in time!

Next it was time to make cake! Yummy chocolate! Logan managed to get batter in his nose, too!

Happy Birthday to the best daddy ever! We love you so much!
You Rock!

One Week Old!

Mattie and Toby.
(Notice the Toby dogs on her outfit!)

Matilyn is already a week old! She is such a sweet baby. We hardly hear her cry and she sleeps a lot. We'll take it while we can. We had a weight check this morning, and she is already back to her birthweight - 7 lbs. 13 oz. She's a good eater, when she wakes to eat. She has given me 2 good nights in a row, 4 hour stretches, where mommy only had to get up once in the middle of the night. I'm praying that she keeps that up! We go back for our 2 week appointment on Tuesday.

Taking Suggestions....

Since we are no longer just Brandy and her Boys, I'm taking suggestions for a new blog name. Maybe the obvious choice would be "Ramblings of the Sleep Deprived Mom." Let me know what you think!

Mattie Cheers Red Raiders on to Victory!

Bath Time!

Can't Get Enough

I seem to recall feeling body parts arranged this way in the womb. Just upside down. She likes to sleep like this, alot.

Noah is so proud of his baby sister.

Have you ever seen a more precious face?!

One of many photo sessions. If only I were a photographer! It's going to be hard to try and get pictures of her in all of her cute outfits!

Sorry it has taken so long to post a picture. The computer has been having issues. But here she is! Everything went great and fast! The induction started at 9am. They broke my water at 10:20am, epidural at 10:30. I started pushing at noon and she was born at 12:03! Every childbirth should be so easy! I feel great. We had a good night last night, actually got some sleep. Looking forward to a day filled with visitors, and lots and lots of snuggles with my girl! We should go home sometime on Friday. Can't wait for everyone to meet her!

Hospital Test Run...Take 2

Had my 37 week appointment this morning. Somehow I managed to lose 3 pounds since last week. Must be water weight. Baby girl's heart rate was in the 150s. The bad news was my blood pressure was higher than it has been. Dr. Irvin came in and took it again, still high. She also said I had protein too. That meant it was time to look at getting baby girl out. She sent me to Labor and Delivery to be monitored and to have blood work drawn. The two options were to admit me after that and have a baby, or send me home if the bloodwork was ok, and come back in the morning to have a baby. The second option is what ended up happening. They sent me home to lay down on my side until tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital by 7am. If it happens as fast as Logan came, we should have a baby by lunchtime. Stay tuned........

Dressed for the Jazzercise Halloween class. Yes, those are supposed to be leaves on top of my head.

Happy Halloween!

Logan and Noah try out their costumes.

Black Spiderman is ready for his school party!

So is Red Spiderman! (I'm shocked he put the costume on at school!)

Logan knocks for the first time.

The force is strong with this one!

More candy dad?

Noah checks out his "tons and tons of candy!"
