Baby Girl Bedding!

I was beginning to get discouraged. Every time I browsed baby girl bedding, I didn't know what I was going to do. I was not finding ANYTHING I liked. Saturday afternoon my mom and I set off on some baby girl errands. Our first stop was Pottery Barn Kids (for Star Wars sheets) and I kept coming back to this bumper pad. The more we looked at it and talked about it, the more I could see her room taking shape! We bought the bumper and curtains and set off to Babies R Us to do some registering. Then at a stop to Home Depot for caulk, we checked out some paint colors. To Matt's relief, the bedding matches the colors already on the wall in Logan's (soon to be baby's) room. We will be able to take down the border, paint a fun pink stripe in it's place, and then stamp or stencil some daisies in the pink. We will probably add some butterflies in the yellow 1/3 of the room. I feel soo much better after this weekend. Looking at this makes me happy. And my family will tell you that is a good thing.......

Almost 23 Weeks

We went to a wedding Saturday night. Looking at this, it's hard to believe that I'm just barely past half way. I look like I should be having this baby next week. Either that or I closely resemble a cow.

Cute Little Red Raider!

Thank you Hudgens' girls for loaning us the adorable Tech dress!
Baby Girl will wear it well!

Blog Slump

Is there an official "blogger" term for when nothing exciting is going on and I have nothing new to post? Maybe I need to ask Noah if his tummy is telling him anything good to post. Lately his tummy has been telling him when it is time to watch Noggin, or when it's time to play games, and of course when he's hungry and full.

Our weekend was pretty normal. We went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I took the camera, but never took it out of the diaper bag. I was on Logan duty, and Matt was following along behind Noah. The rest of the day was a nap, games, dinner, and more games. Sunday, Matt and I took a spin volunteering for Noah's teachers in Preschool B. We had a room full of 19 4 year olds. Everyone was alive by the end, and only one was crying. I can't believe I used to do that for a living. After a yummy lunch at Texadelphia (yes, my craving) Matt took the boys to Shake's for ice cream, and I headed off to a baby-girl baby shower for a friend. There was lots of pink, and lots of cute things that if I had had the diaper bag with me, they might have come home to my house! :) I did learn that I MUST STAY OUT OF CARTER'S for now. We took an evening trip to the pool. Noah has become quite the little swimmer. I think by next summer, he will be ready to go down the big slides! He and daddy wrestled all over the pool. He has one more swimming lesson this Wednesday. Yay. I don't know what I was thinking scheduling lessons on Wednesdays. I'm in playgroup withdrawl.

Next on the agenda, planning Logan's birthday party. We will be celebrating at the lake with family and some close friends for the weekend of his birthday. It will be a "Party on Papa's Boat!" (With a little Thomas the Train thrown in on the side!)

So now that I've rambled, maybe the Blog juices will be flowing again. All I know is that MY tummy is telling me that I'm ready for dinner. Oh, and there is a baby girl doing back flips in there too!

First Pink Experience

Well, I almost made it a week without buying something. But then I went to Target last night. Baby girl has her first official pink outfit! It's hard to resist when there's a Toby on it!

I still can't believe I'm having a girl!

Introducing Sarah Cheyenne Brehm!

More Pink!!!
So, I find out I'm having a girl on Wednesday, I leave for New Orleans
on Thursday, and get a phone call on Friday that Chey (my sister-in-law)
is pushing! They didn't know what they were having.
IT'S A GIRL!
Born July 11, 2008
6 lbs

My brother Jimmy, the proud Daddy, and her big brother Eric!
Eric holds the sweet baby girl.
We went by the hospital today on our way back to Austin from New Orleans. She is so beautiful - total Brehm, with the exception of mom's nose and mouth. I'm even more excited to be having a girl now! She already has girl cousins on both sides. All within 8 months of each other! God is so good!
Now I need to go to bed. I'll blog about our trip to New Orleans tomorrow.

PINK....IS THE COLOR OF THE DAY!

Here are the pictures of our baby GIRL!!!! I had my 20 week sonogram today.

YIPPEEE!!!
Supposedly the hand is pointing to the little girl parts (or lack of boy stuff!).
Compared to Noah and Logan's sonogram, there is definitely something missing!

Look at that sweet little face! Compared to Logan's sonogram, the mouth is identical!

We are all in a little bit of shock! My BP was 102/60. Matt is white as a sheet. The only thing he could say was, "I need a raise." Heart rate was 144, and then 148. I've gained 4 pounds, but I don't care, I'm having a girl! The other thing Matt said was, "I guess we will be talking girl names all the way to New Orleans!"

Unconventional Prayers

Tucking Noah in tonight, saying prayers with him:

M: Thank you God for sending your son Jesus to be our Savior. Hopefully one day Noah and Logan will ask Jesus into their hearts.

N: Mom, you can pick Lall-E (Wall-E) if you want to. It's a game, on your puter (computer).

M: Shakes head and throws hands up.

Good-night Noah!

Phrases of the 4 Year Old

"I never get to...." or "I'm never gonna...."

"This will take too long." or "It's taking a long time."

"______ will be boring!" (Jazzercise, eating, bath, sleep, etc....)

Note: They usually occur in this order, and within minutes of each other.

Middle of the Night Cuteness!

Last night as I was tucking Noah in and saying prayers, I told him that Daddy would come check on him when he got home (Matt has been at work past 9 every night this week). He asked why, and I said because he misses him and loves him.

Fast Forward to 5:00am.

Pitter-patter of little feet in our room.

N: (whisper) Dad?

D: What Noah?

N: Dad, did you check me in yet?

The not so cute part was that Matt could not go back to sleep, so he got up, showered and went to work.

Swim Like a Fish

Well, we've completed 5 private swim lessons now with Noah. The first 3 went well, then he decided it "will be hard", he didn't want to "swim past the dolphins," and "my tummy will hurt." He made up his mind that he didn't want to go to lesson 4 and 5. Too bad for him, mommy had already paid for the lessons! Too bad for mommy, he screamed through lesson #4. But by the end he was showing off for the other kids at the pool. We had the weekend off to prepare for lesson #5 on Monday. We got there early so he could "warm up." All I can say is night and day. Who was this kid? And who was that kid on Friday? He was all over the pool, and jumping off the diving board! When I asked him if he wanted to take some more lessons, he says, "Yeah, sure." Stay tuned, we are taking a couple of weeks off before we go back.

Side Note: We went to the pool today and he was a fish. He would swim to me, swim to the wall, and swim back to the steps. Then he said, "Mom, I want to go back to the deep so I can practice some more!" I think he was showing off for Lauren and Kate! Nothing like cute, 3 year olds for motivation!
