Playing Games

 Just call him Logan J. Moneybags!

Noah is learning to play chess. One indication that this child is on his way to being smarter than his Momma!

We've also been having Qwirkle matches at night before bed. Usually it's Logan and Dad vs. Noah vs. Mommy. Last night, Logan decided to be on Mom's team, and Dad and Noah were flying solo. Noah convincingly won his first solo game last night. He was pretty pumped. (We won't mention that Daddy came in last.)

Christmas M&M Cookies With Daddy

Obviously this is all the before, and I don't have any after pictures. There was a slight mishap and the cookies came out flat and as one big cookie. Thinking back, daddy thinks he might not have put enough flour in. In the end, it didn't matter, they tasted yummy, and I don't think Santa minded either!

Let There Be Light

After dinner, we took a little drive around town to look at Christmas lights. It was cold outside and warm and cozy in our sleigh. We made a quick stop for a picture under the Heritage Park tree. You can tell we weren't planning to get out of the car: no coats, no shoes, and pajamas! My favorite part was listening to the kids sing Christmas songs in the car.

Oh, and Mattie saying, "Holy Moly! That's a lot of lights!"

A Beautiful December Day

We met some friends at the park today to get outside and soak up some sunshine. The kids had a blast feeding the geese and the ducks. We also threw rocks in the water and walked the trail. Some December days, living in Texas has its benefits!

Great Grandma is in town (Brenham) for Christmas, so Grammy and Grandpa brought her to our house for the day. The kids showed her everything, and pretty much just showed off! I think she loved every minute of it, don't you?

Down On The Tree Farm

 This one fell asleep on the rainy drive out to the farm.

Taking a hay ride out to the trees:

 It took a little while, but we finally found our tree. The drought really took its toll on the trees at the farm, but with a little love this one would be perfect in the cozy corner of our house.

 She did not want to be in the picture. And she did not want to walk in the rain boots she was wearing!

 But then she decided it was okay:

A Little Rain Won't Stop Us From Keeping Our Christmas Traditions

 

We found our CHRISTmas tree today at the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm. The kids took turns helping Daddy cut it down. It was the perfect family afternoon outing.

Table Tradition

Another year of hand prints added to Grammy's treasured table cloth. And for the first time in a long time, all 5 kiddos were excited about having their hands painted. No tears! Another sign that they are all growing up way too fast.
