All Giggles!

I caught Mattie in the backyard giggling at her big brothers.
Best. Sound. Ever.

First Day Of Kindergarten - Part 1

Lunch is packed, back-pack is ready. 6:30am came really early this morning.
Watching morning cartoons. Tom n Jerry was a huge motivation to get out of bed!
Breakfast of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Of course we had the traditional "first day of school" pics.
He's so handsome, so grown up, and SO ready for this day!
We're on our way!
As we got closer to school, and joined in with the hundreds of cars/parents dropping their kids off, he started to change his mind that he wanted us to walk him in. By the time we got through the line, he didn't have time to get misty-eyed. We pulled up, he put his backpack on, a teacher opened the door, he gave daddy "five," mommy a kiss, and got out of the car. He told the teacher his teacher is Mrs. Saul, she said "we'll get you there!" He walked right in.
I'm so proud of him. And proud of me - I didn't cry! Thankfully I had Jazzercise to take my mind off of it! I can't wait to go pick him up and hear all about his first day! Stay tuned.......

Yummy In My Tummy

The Greatest Show on Earth!

For Logan's 3rd birthday, Mommy and Daddy took the family to the circus. Daddy took Friday off so we could go to the morning show. We got there in time to catch just a few minutes of the pre-show on the circus floor.
The boys checked out one of the motorcycles. When I told Logan the night before that we might see motorcycles, he said, "No, motorcycles go on the road!" We did see motorcycles! Seven of them got in the steel cage and went round and round! Unbelievable!
Waiting for the show to begin!
Mommy's favorite part - the tigers!
So, I decided to take the "little" camera to save space and make my diaper bag a little lighter. I took one picture and the battery light started flashing. Oops. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted, but I was able to get a few to show you we were there. The boys had a great time. Mattie was fascinated with the lights and music. Noah wants to be the Ringmaster and Logan decided he wants to be a tiger!

There's a little more to the story....we sat in the parking garage, not moving for 30 minutes. Matt got out and went to try and figure out what was happening. The boys were whining in the back about being hungry, why aren't the cars moving, etc. Turns out, after wrapping around about 4 times, the line was trying to feed one car at a time into one lane of traffic, at a stop light, that turned into more circus traffic. No cop. We got out and hit the pavement. After a few phone calls to UT people, we located a place to eat - Brick Oven. It's a good thing the boys LOVE cheese pizza. We even saw some of the performers there! When we got back to the car the garage was empty and we drove right out.

Note to self: take the illegal right turn and park next to the exit, or pick a different garage, so we don't stroll around downtown Austin in 100+ heat.

Long and Lean

We've been to the doctor twice this week for well-checks. First on Tuesday for Mattie's 9 month check up, and then today for Logan's 3 year check-up. Don't ask me why, but they wouldn't schedule them on the same day.

Mattie first:
height: 29 inches (90%)
weight: 18 lbs. 7.5 oz (25-50%)
head is at 50%
She is right on schedule developmentally, just not really interested in crawling. Who needs to crawl when you have two brothers to entertain you! She has the waving motion down, but doesn't associate it with bye-bye yet. She's started bouncing up and down a lot on her bottom, and might actually start moving that way :). She also finally figured out how to get the puffs off of her high-chair tray and into her mouth - two and three at a time! We also tasted some yogurt melts this week. Yum! She says dadada and nananana, lalalala, and still makes her scuttle sounding roars. Grandma has been working on baa, and she said ba for me last night when we were playing with a ball. No shots this time, just a stick of the toe for anemia check. We go back for our 1 year visit in November, and maybe before then for a flu shot.

Logan's turn:
weight: 30 lbs. (25-50%)
height: 38 3/4 inches (75-90%)
BMI: less than 5%
He's beyond where she asked him to be developmentally: knowing ABC's, counting to 10, colors, brushing teeth and dressing self, drawing circles, pretend play. He was answering the questions as she asked them! No shots for him today either. We were able to go ahead and get the flu mist vaccine for him and for Noah at this visit, so we won't have to go back in a couple of months for flu shots!

I'm so thankful to have healthy and happy kids. Thank You Jesus, for letting me be the mommy to these 3 precious children. (And thank You for walking beside me as I try to bring them up in the way that they should go.)
