"We're Goin' on a Hunt"

"We're looking for a Christmas Tree, we're goin' on a hunt."
"Is it over here, is it over there?"
Can we just find one please? We want to go home!
BRRRRRR.
It was cold as we loaded up on the tractor in search of our perfect tree.
When we finally found one, the boys took turns helping daddy saw it down.
Logan said, "I'm so glad we found the perfect tree I always wanted!"
Taking it back to have it shook up and bundled.
Speaking of bundled:
Daddy ties it to the top of the car.

While daddy loaded the tree, the boys ran through the crazy maze 4 times!

Proof that mommy was there, too!
I'm so excited we are getting to wear the hat that Amy H. made and the coat that Amy F. made. They are soooo cute and even cuter on my Mattie!

The boys couldn't wait for mommy to get the lights on (why do I get stuck with that job?) so they could hang some ornaments.

So fun.

Ta Da!

We moved the tree to behind the front door this year. Not my favorite place for it, but we have a little mischief maker in the house. I'm sure she would have pulled it over by now trying to pull up on it, played in the water, and eaten a few ornaments! For now, it is safe.

Mommy and Daddy couldn't resist getting a little tree for the boys room:
We (or should I say Mommy) strung popcorn and made a paper-chain garland. The Mickey ornaments have been moved to their tree. And Logan's star is at the top!
The anticipation is building as presents are appearing under the tree.
We can't wait for Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving Highlights

We did a lot of this - stuffing our faces.

The boys explored the wonders found in Aunt Julie's iPhone.

Matt roasted his first turkey this year. Above it is dunked in the brine for an overnight soaking.
After cooking in the oven at 500 degrees for 30 minutes, it went into the roaster.
And about 2 hours later you get this:
Grandpa carves it up.
It was fabulously delicious.

What is Thanksgiving without some attempts at family pictures.

And one of mommy and her girl.
We also continued Grammy's annual handprints on the table cloth. I missed out on taking pictures because I was busy painting hands. Grammy got the pictures on her camera, so hopefully she will send them to me soon. No rush, as I am just now blogging about Thanksgiving! After Brenham, we loaded up the car and headed to my parents' house in Houston. We spent one day there stuffing our faces all over again! The highlight of that 24 hours was the rock concert that took place. Again, I think I took two pictures, and they aren't blog worthy. But hey, I don't usually take pictures when Chey is there. Her 500+ pictures are so great that I don't even try. We had a great time even though our time was short. Looking forward to a fantastic Christmas with our two awesome families.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

I hope you found some time to relax today; or at least took some time for yourself.
We are looking forward to spending Christmas with you.
We send you lots of love, hugs, and kisses today.

I love that my daughter looks like you.
And I love that I am a lot like you.

Bring on the FOOD!

mmmmm....mashed potatoes
a mashed potato mustache!

Mattie tries her hand at her first Thanksgiving dinner.
It went in all at once!

And her first free-for-all with spaghetti:

So Yummy!
Make sure you get it all!
And then we went straight to the tub!

5 Seconds Later.....

A pic of the Cothern cousins where they all look (almost) happy! This one's for you Grammy.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

We hope your day is super happy! As usual, our cards are in the mail and late, but the love and hugs we send are on time! Looking forward to more fun at Camp Grandpa this Christmas! XOXOXOXOXO

Daddy, I'm Sorry.....

I realize I'm in a little bit of a blogging slump. Matt's off the next two days, so maybe I'll get a chance to catch up. I love you, and I hope you have a great day! :)
